About Cisco Systems, Inc – Gold Sponsor
Cisco Systems, Inc, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, was founded in 1984 by a small group of computer scientists from Stanford University. Today, with more than 71,000 employees, Cisco has 380 global sites doing business in more than 165 countries and remains committed to creating networks that are smarter, thanks to built-in intelligent network services; faster, in their ability to perform at ever-increasing speeds; and more durable, with a generational approach to an evolutionary infrastructure.

To deliver differentiated value to customers and partners in Taiwan through its unique products and services, Cisco first set up a local branch in Taiwan in March, 1994. Three years later the country’s regional office was formally established in March, 1997. Later Cisco further extended into the local market with the establishment of its southern Taiwan branch in April, 1998 in response to the rapid market growth.

As the world’s leading IT company, Cisco never forgets its role in the economical development of Taiwan. To help foster educational and professional opportunities, Cisco Taiwan founded the Cisco Networking Academy Program, dedicated to providing students with the training and resources they need to design, build, and maintain computer networks.

About Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd – Silver Sponsor?
Originated from a business unit of the Directorate General of Telecommunications, Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. (“Chunghwa” or “the Company”) was officially established as a state-owned company on July 1, 1996 as part of the Republic of China government’s restructuring efforts to liberalize and privatize the telecommunications industry. Chunghwa started trading on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “2412” in October 2000 and on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “CHT” in July 2003. In August 2005, Chunghwa became a privatized company when the government ownership declined to less than 50%. Today, Chunghwa is the largest integrated telecommunication services provider in Taiwan.

In Taiwan mobile market, Chunghwa have about 11 million subscribers currently. It’s already market leading position is strengthened as a result of its launch of the 4G LTE mobile broadband services on 29 May 2014. It is the first commercial 4G network in Taiwan. In October 2013, the company has acquired the largest amount of bandwidth with 2x35MHz including most sought after slot at 1800MHz and two slots currently held for 2G services. It helps ensure the company has the potential to offer high speed 4G services over LTE technology, and also maintain 2G services for customers.

Proven Reliability Opens Door to Substantial $6 Billion Cellular MEMS and Sensor Market

Shanghai, China, June 12, 2014 /Xinwengao.com/ - TowerJazz, the global specialty foundry leader, and Cavendish Kinetics, today announced that Cavendish’s CK301 RF MEMS tuner has passed the 50 billion cycles test with zero part failures. Additionally, the parts have passed standard JEDEC and SEMI qualification and select Mil-Std 883D and IEC tests. The CK301 RF MEMS tuner combines Cavendish’s patented NanoMech MEMS technology with TowerJazz’s high voltage CMOS and custom radio frequency interconnect processing, and has now been released for volume production at TowerJazz.

“The cycling data is impressive, especially as the reliability has exceeded the specifications from mobile phone makers by up to100x” said Dr. David Howard, TowerJazz Executive Director and Fellow. “The monolithically integrated chip is designed for reliability and manufacturability, and is taking full advantage of our standard semiconductor process tooling and MEMS process experience.”

Cavendish’s first generation MEMS products, which include the CK301, are innovative RF tuners specifically designed to overcome the antenna performance challenges experienced in today’s LTE smartphones, which have to support an ever growing number of operating modes and frequency bands. In addition, larger displays and batteries, and ever thinner form-factors further constrain the antenna volume available in smartphones. Antenna Tuning is one of the most promising solutions to enable multiband antenna performance, but existing tuning solutions do not provide the characteristics required to make it work efficiently. Cavendish’s RF tuners provide an industry leading ‘Q-Factor’ (>200), are very low loss (dB), and enable the required tuning ranges so that RF designers can meet LTE radio performance requirements. In addition, Cavendish’s antenna tuner is only 2mm2 in size and does not require other components, which makes it easy to implement in even the most challenging form-factors.

Cavendish’s upcoming MEMS products will address the performance needs of LTE-advanced RF front-end components such as power amplifiers, filters and switches, to enable demanding next generation LTE carrier-aggregation and WiFi co-existence solutions.

“We have dedicated ourselves to build RF MEMS products that are optimizing smartphone radio platforms, and can be mass produced using basic CMOS processes,” said Dennis Yost, President and CEO of Cavendish Kinetics. “During this development, TowerJazz has been an invaluable technology and process partner with its advanced MEMS foundry know-how. With TowerJazz’s process expertise, we have been able to achieve our goals of manufacturability, quality and reliability, and are now in the enviable position to be able to supply many tens of millions of devices per month to support the large and rapidly growing LTE mobile device market,” Yost added.

“We are proud that Cavendish Kinetics was able to take full advantage of our MEMS Foundry enablement solutions,” said Russell Ellwanger, CEO of TowerJazz. “The RF MEMS market is an important growth area for TowerJazz, and the successful collaboration with Cavendish expands our leadership position in this nascent market. Now, Cavendish is in a position to mass produce a highly reliable CMOS-MEMS solution, utilizing the proven TowerJazz high volume manufacturing capability.”
